About Heidi Albert

Heidi Albert has over 25 years’ experience in diagnostics development, implementation and diagnostic systems strengthening, having worked in support of Ministries of Health and partners in more than 30 LMICs.

As part of FIND’s Access team, she leads work on diagnostic network optimization (DNO) across diseases and geographies, partnering to deliver data-driven recommendations to inform country strategic plans and investment decisions to improve equitable access and efficiency of integrated diagnostic systems including the introduction and scale up new diagnostic tools. She currently serves on WHO’s Global TB Programme Technical Advisory Group for Diagnostics and Lab Systems Strengthening and has contributed to multiple global and national diagnostic guidelines and toolkits.

She holds a PhD in Pharmacy and Pharmacology from University of Bath, UK, and Masters in Public Health (Health Economics) from University of Cape Town, and is based in Cape Town, South Africa.
