About Shubhada Shenai

Dr Shubhada Shenai joined the FIND team as Medical Officer in July 2017. She has more than 15 years of experience in the field of TB diagnostics. She is responsible for managing, monitoring, and implementing clinical diagnostic studies including evaluation of new technologies/products in India. She is also supporting FIND in developing and strengthening sustainable TB lab network in India through various team activities like LIMS, E-training, EQA program for GeneXpert, providing technical guidance for ISO 15189 accreditation etc.

Shubhada’s research interests are mainly focused on advanced diagnostic tools/biomarkers for rapid detection of infectious diseases, especially TB; optimizing therapy by identifying drug-resistant patterns and tracking the spread of infectious diseases in the community. She holds a PhD in Applied biology from P.D. Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre, University of Mumbai. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers University, NJ, USA. She is recipient of multiple awards (including 3 gold medals) in her academic life with strong publication and presentation record. Prior to joining FIND she worked as a Research Scientist at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, NJ, USA and as an Application Support Manager at Labindia Healthcare Pvt, Ltd. India.
