About Aurélia Vessière

Aurélia joined FIND in September 2021 as the Head of Pandemic Preparedness, leading FIND’s programme to address gaps in the availability and use of diagnostic tests for pandemic preparedness and response.

Trained in virology and epidemiology, with a specialization in tropical infectious diseases, she has extensive experience in clinical research, diagnosis and epidemiology of emerging viruses, as well as HIV, malaria and TB. Previously, she held positions at the University of Bordeaux (France), University of Oxford (UK), University of Tulane (USA), French National Agency for AIDS Research, and Pasteur Institute in Cameroon.

With more than 15 years of experience in sub-Saharan Africa, Aurélia has been very involved in capacity strengthening of resource-limited health settings, while being strongly attached to building equitable research partnerships.
