A propos de Imane El Idrissi

Imane joined FIND’s Data Services & Biobanking team in 2020, and is currently working as Biobank Coordinator. Her activities are linked to FIND’s vision of a network-based biobanking model to support diagnostics R&D. She is helping to manage the sample distribution process from Specimen Bank requests to sample delivery. She is also involved in sample collections for the Integrated Biobanks and is supporting the expansion of the DxConnect Virtual Biobank.

In 2017, Imane obtained her master’s degree in molecular biology from the University of Geneva, and earned a second master’s in Global Health in 2020, during which she did an exchange programme at the University of Hong Kong. She is passionate about infectious disease control and improving access to diagnostics and medicines in low- and middle-income countries. This is what initially drove her to do a first internship in the Food Safety and Zoonoses department of WHO in 2017, and a second internship in 2018 with the Pandemic Preparedness team at FIND, which left her inspired by the organization’s work.
