On 29 March 2017, FIND will be recognized for contributions to TB control in Viet Nam by the Viet Nam Ministry of Health. Awards are being given to in-country and international organizations on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the National Lung Hospital.
FIND will be given a certificate of recognition and appreciation for a wide array of work. Highlights include FIND support for implementation of EXPAND TB, external quality assurance through the establishment of in-country proficiency testing panels for Xpert MTB/RIF, line probe assay for first line and second line drugs, laboratory strengthening and capacity building using TB SLMTA. FIND has also conducted operational research projects in Viet Nam and funded the pilot study on evaluation and implementation of the Connected Diagnostics Platform (CDP), as well as routine tests using fluorescent smear microscopy, MTB culture, Xpert MTB/RIF and drug susceptibility testing.
In addition, Dr Gumma Vidyanidhi, Senior Laboratory Consultant for FIND Viet Nam, will be awarded a certificate of recognition and appreciation from Viet Nam Ministry of Health; and Ms Nguyen Thi Hoang Yen, Office Manager and Representative of FIND in Viet Nam, will be awarded a certificate of recognition and appreciation from Viet Nam National TB Control Program.
FIND congratulates Dr Vidyanidhi and Ms Nguyen on their well-deserved awards. FIND is also honored to receive recognition from the Viet Nam Ministry of Health and looks forward to the ceremony.
The awards will be conferred on 29 March 2017 at the conclusion of the Viet Nam National TB Program’s Annual conference on Activity Review for 2016 and Orientation for 2017, and will be hosted at the International Convention Center, 11 Le Hong Phong Street, Hanoi. The ceremony will include participants from NTP network, MOH, local authorities and partners. FIND’s Chief Access Officer, Zachary Katz, will also be in attendance.
