In October 2017, FIND launched an interactive online tool to map the status and estimated release dates of diagnostic solutions in the development pipeline. The Pipeline Tracker, which initially covered only TB diagnostics, has been expanded to cover diagnostic solutions for malaria. The remaining diseases in FIND’s portfolio will be added to the tracker in early 2018.
Using the Diagnostic Pipeline Tracker, stakeholders can visualize the global landscape of diagnostic solutions via a “status view” or a “timeline view”. The status view shows the stages of the development pathway, from research to roll-out1. The timeline view illustrates the approximate date of commercial availability in low- and middle-income countries for each product2.
The Pipeline Tracker allows for the dynamic visualization of data on diagnostic solutions in the pipeline. Users are able to filter solutions by disease, target product profiles, health level, company size, and whether or not it is in the FIND portfolio. For each product in the pipeline, key information is displayed, including company name and size, type of product and technology, and the healthcare level in which the product can be used.
FIND’s work in the development of these tools is supported by the Australian government and UK aid from the UK government.
1 The status view is based on the TB Diagnostics Critical Pathway, an online tool supported by FIND and partners that guides innovators in developing their ideas from research to roll-out.
2 The timeline view is based on data that is publicly available or supplied directly from the companies.
