Board of Directors

Our ultimate governing body is our Board of Directors.

With a new strategy and new leadership team in place, our Board has prioritized for 2022 the goal of establishing the diversity within the Board itself required to effectively represent the stakeholders of the organization. FIND has revised the charter of its Governance and Nominating Committee, and through the nomination process, commits to the following Board targets:

  • Gender parity: at least 50% by the end of 2023, and establishing an ongoing definition and target for full gender parity.
  • Emphasizing regional representation by adding at least two new Board members from the Global South in 2022, and establishing criteria for regional representation by the close of 2022.
  • Significantly increasing the representation of civil society in FIND’s governance.
  • Expanding the diversity of experience and expertise within the Board to reflect the evolving role FIND plays in global health equity and as the leader of a global diagnostics alliance.

The Board performs the following functions:

  • Provides guidance and exercises final decision-making on strategy
  • Approves all management team operations, including work plans and budgets
  • Oversees the progress of all FIND activities
  • Hires and evaluates senior level executives
  • Ensures the integrity of FIND’s corporate accounting, financial reporting systems, and audits
  • Participates in resource mobilization effort and supports public relations
  • Initiates new partnerships
  • Selects new Board members
