About Henri Mwaniki

Henri joined FIND as the Director of Finance in March 2025. In this role, he is responsible for enhancing the organization’s financial oversight and developing strategies that support FIND’s mission of advancing global health and diagnostics.

Before joining FIND, Henri served as a Director at KPMG, where he worked in the USA and Switzerland for over 17 years. During his tenure, he led complex audit and advisory engagements within the nonprofit sector, gaining extensive experience in donor compliance and financial accountability. His work included conducting audits for organizations such as the Carnegie Institute for Science, Global Fund, GAVI, the World Bank, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

Henri’s deep understanding of donor expectations and requirements has equipped him with the expertise needed to navigate the intricate financial challenges faced by nonprofits. In addition to external and donor-specific audits, he has significant experience conducting program evaluations and grant assessments. He has collaborated with several UN agencies, including UNITAID, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as well as other multilateral funding agencies such as the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

In his previous role, Henri led assignments at various donor-funded implementation sites, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Nigeria, South Africa, Lesotho, Rwanda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Türkiye, and Kazakhstan. Through these engagements, he developed a thorough understanding of country-specific challenges and played a crucial role in supporting donor-funded programs in these nations.

Henri holds professional credentials as a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
