About Akhil Soman

Akhil joined FIND India in September 2020 as a Research coordinator. His core interest lies in identifying pathways to global health challenges and contributing to their context adapted solutions using evidence and partnerships.

Since 2007, Akhil has been engaged in research through several international multi-center projects. His focus has primarily been on social, behavioral and genetic determinants, as well as burden of various non-communicable and communicable diseases, and quantitative analytical techniques. He was briefly engaged with Find India in their pediatric TB project on GeneXpert testing in 2019 as a content writer. Prior to joining FIND, he worked as a research associate with Public Health Foundation of India for their disease burden initiative aimed on evidence synthesis to inform policy.

Akhil completed his Bachelors in Dentistry from Kozhikode, Kerala, India, and MSc and PhD in craniofacial health sciences focused on life-course epidemiology and causal inference from McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
