About André Trollip

André has doctoral degree in Biotechnology from the University of Johannesburg. He started his career as a medical microbiologist at the South African Institute for Medical Research (National Health Laboratory Service). His interest in diagnostics saw him transition to research, and later academia. He has over 25 years experience in developing and evaluating TB diagnostics.

André joined FIND in 2014, working on the implementation of diagnostics in low resource settings, online training and laboratory strengthening within the FIND-CDC Cooperative Agreement Access Programme. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, he is responsible for country support in Tanzania, promoting and developing the TB SLMTA programme, collating in-country tools for diagnostic implementation and developing an Xpert MTB/RIF Quality Assurance guidance document.
