About Antonio Pedrotta

Antonio joined FIND in September 2021 as Scientific Officer for AMR and Sequencing. Before coming to FIND, Antonio worked mainly with Médecins Sans Frontières in low- and middle-income countries implementing clinical laboratories and new diagnostic tolls suitable for low resource settings. His work experience was focused on multi and extensively drug resistant tuberculosis, but also HIV and antimicrobial resistance. In 2019, he was part of the team introducing next generation sequencing in Mumbai, India, with the aim of reducing the drug resistance detection time in tuberculosis patients. After Mumbai, Antonio moved to Uzbekistan where he continued to work on next generation sequencing.

Antonio graduated in Biochemistry (L’Aquila, IT), and holds a residency in clinical pathology-laboratory medicine (Chieti, IT), a postgraduate in Tropical Biomedical Sciences and International Health (Antwerp, BE), and a MSc in Global Health and Infectious Diseases (Edinburgh, UK).
