About Devy Emperador

Devy joined FIND in November 2017 and is currently Scientific Officer for the Emerging Threats Programme, supporting diagnostic development for outbreak-prone and emerging diseases for low- and middle-income countries. With over 7 years of experience in both private and public sectors and a focus on global health and infectious diseases research, she believes that fostering partnerships and relying on local knowledge improves health outcomes. Her interests lie in health systems strengthening and outbreak preparedness, specifically through the evaluation and implementation of appropriate diagnostic tools.

Devy received her Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology from Dickinson College and her Master in Public Health with a concentration in infectious diseases and vaccinology from the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. Born in the Philippines and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Devy enjoys reading, hiking, snowboarding, and practicing kung fu.
