About Katie Carmichael

Katie joined FIND in July 2022 as Programme Manager for Emerging Threats and Global Health Security. Before joining FIND, Katie worked as the Operations and Deployments Manager for the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team where she supported emergency outbreak response, capacity development and outbreak related research through the deployment of public health experts. She has over 15 years’ experience in the global public health and humanitarian sectors and has worked with both government agencies and Non-Government Organizations.

She was based with the UK Health Security Agency (formally Public Health England and the UK Health Protection Agency) from 2010 to 2022. Prior to this she worked as a field coordinator with Médecins Sans Frontières and in a central London Emergency department as a registered nurse. Katie graduated from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine with an MSc in Public Health and a Diploma of Tropical Nursing.
