About Stefano Ongarello

Stefano Ongarello is the director of data science at FIND, the global alliance for diagnostics.

Throughout his career Stefano’s interests have focused on leveraging the use of data to advance healthcare, initially in pharmaceutical development, focusing on the application of machine learning and AI methods to implement personalized medicine, shifting then to diagnostics and more broadly global health.

He also led the development of FIND’s biobank activities leading the creation of a network of virtual and decentralized biorepositories.

Stefano received an MD in Computer Science Engineering, and a PhD in Bioengineering, both from the University of Padova, Italy.
