Year-end message 2019

Dear FIND colleagues, partners, friends,

As the year comes to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for being part of FIND’s endeavours to bring simple diagnostic solutions to patients and healthcare workers around the world. We are grateful for the support and collaboration that has helped us bring a total of 24 new diagnostics to completion since our inception. Our common challenge is and will remain that of working with countries to make even more concrete progress towards improving access and uptake.

This year has seen an increased focus at FIND on digital technologies, which play an increasingly important role in improving data usage and optimizing testing networks that will extend diagnostic coverage. We have also benefited from significant new investment from several donors, including from Unitaid to kick off an exciting new project that will enable uptake of sequencing technologies in low-resource settings; from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to extend our work towards elimination of sleeping sickness; and UK aid from the British people to accelerate development of diagnostic platforms and mechanisms for effective responses to neglected tropical diseases and outbreaks.

On behalf of the entire FIND team, thank you for being part of our work to ensure that every patient enjoys the right to a correct diagnosis and thus begin the path towards health. We look forward to working with you next year and bringing a stronger focus to contributing to universal health coverage goals through our R&D and access programmes.
