100 Days Mission for diagnostics: vision and priorities for diagnostic pandemic preparedness

13 October 2024 11:00 – 12:30 (CET) JW Marriott Hotel Berlin, Brazzaville Lounge In Person

Official side event at the World Health Summit 2024

Diagnostics continue to be a critical challenge for health systems worldwide, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where affordability and accessibility remain significant barriers. The 100 Days Mission for diagnostics (100DM Dx) was launched in response to the lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic. This ambitious initiative aims to accelerate the development and deployment of affordable and accessible diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines for infectious diseases within 100 days of the declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).

As part of this event, we will present the 100DM Dx roadmap, focusing on its potential impact on diagnostic access in LMICs, and discuss the costings and financial feasibility of delivering diagnostics for the WHO R&D Blueprint pathogens and Disease X. This event aims to assess and refine the roadmap while fostering collaboration among key actors in global health, diagnostics, and financing.
