Active case finding and treatment: time to close the gap

The American Thoracic Society and International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union), are organizing a webinar series to discuss if the ambitious goals outlined in the WHO End TB Strategy and reinforced by the commitments made at the United Nations High Level meeting on TB in September 2018 to eliminate TB are, in fact, possible. Even before the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic, the TB response was falling behind the necessary timeline; in the last year alone, COVID-19 has set back the fight against TB by over a decade. The webinar series will be examining if TB Elimination is still a relevant goal,  if it can be achieved by 2030, as per the WHO End TB strategy and what will be needed in to make it happen.

Dr Morten Ruhwald, Head of TB, FIND,  will present a talk titled Tools to allow for mass screening and active case finding on Wednesday 28 July, 9:00-10:30 ET.
