Building Bridges 21!

Technologies to eliminate many diseases are now available, yet the financing is not. Hepatitis C kills nearly as many as malaria, and yet not one major funder is funding the multi-billion dollar funding gap. Countries, including Egypt, Malaysia and Georgia, have shown how innovative financing mechanisms and collaboration between governments, international financing institutions and private pharmaceutical companies in the global south can help prevent HCV cases and deaths.

As part of the Building Bridges 21! series, the session on Financing SDG 3 (Health): The case for hepatitis C elimination, Supply-Demand Mismatch, is being hosted by the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) on Wednesday, 1 December 2021 at 16:30–18:00 CET. FIND CEO Bill Rodriguez will be speaking during this session, which will look at what has worked and argue for replication of sustainable financing for hepatitis C elimination as well other curable diseases by 2030.
