BACKGROUND

In the lead up to the AI for Good Global Summit taking place in Geneva from 08 to 11 July, we would like to invite you to an event that will consider the role of AI in the context of global health, and, more particularly, in closing the diagnostic gap.

FIND, in partnership with the Organisation internationale de la francophonie (OIF), will be hosting a special session on:

    H.E. Mr. Henri Eli Monceau

    Henri Eli Monceau is the Permanent Representative of OIF to the UN in Geneva since May 2023. Previously, he was Director of Economic and Digital Francophonie and Ambassador to the UN. He specializes in digital governance, innovation policy, and multilateral affairs, with extensive experience in Belgian government roles.
    Dr. Ifedayo Adetifa

    Dr. Ifedayo Adetifa is a pediatrician and infectious disease epidemiologist. He formerly led Nigeria’s COVID-19 response as Director General of the NCDC, securing major funding for public health. A CEPI Scientific Advisory Committee member, he's an expert in epidemic diseases, vaccines, and health systems.
    H.E. Dr. Jean-Pierre Baptiste

    Appointed Ambassador of Chad to Switzerland in August 2023, Dr. Jean-Pierre Baptiste is a public health expert with over 40 years of experience. A medical doctor and pneumologist, he held key roles in Chad before serving as WHO Regional Advisor and Representative in Africa (2005-2022). He now represents Chad at the UN in Geneva.
    Dr Michael Adekunle Charles

    Dr. Michael Adekunle Charles is CEO of the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, uniting over 500 partners. He champions malaria on the global agenda, advocating holistic interventions. A seasoned medical doctor and humanitarian, he previously spent 17 years leading programs at the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
    Dr. Clément Lazarus

    Dr. Clément Lazarus is a public health physician and epidemiologist, advising the French Director General of Health on Global Health and coordinating AI activities. He co-led France's COVID-19 crisis response and advocates for an evidence-based "One Health" approach.
    Dr. Michel Hamala Sidibé

    Dr. Michel Hamala Sidibé, AU Special Envoy for AMA, is a fierce advocate for health equity and African-led solutions. Formerly UNAIDS Executive Director and Mali's Health Minister, his 40+ years in global health prioritize people-centered policies, notably achieving UNAIDS's 90-90-90 targets.
    Mr. Erick Gaju

    Erick Gaju is a digital health expert with over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing health information systems. At the Global Fund, he supports African countries. Formerly Rwanda's National Digital Health Coordinator, he also lectures on the subject.
    Mr. Sameer Pujari

    Sameer Pujari, with WHO since 2008, is a global leader in Digital Health, including mHealth, Big Data, and AI. He's launched numerous global initiatives and supported over 75 countries. A prolific author and core digital enthusiast, he's received WHO and Greenpeace awards.
    Ms. Mariam Touré

    Mariam Touré began in HIV research before managing public health projects in Africa. She's improved TB programs and strengthened health systems globally. At Unitaid, she leads on digital health and serves as a technical officer for the TB portfolio.
    Dr. Giovanna Jaramillo-Gutierrez


    Dr. Giovanna Jaramillo-Gutierrez is an AI governance specialist and co-founder of Milan & Associates SRL. With a background in global health and data science, she leads outbreak analytics and pandemic responses for WHO. She focuses on algorithmic transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI systems.
    Sylvie Fonteilles-Drabek

    As MMV’s General Counsel and COO, Sylvie is responsible for legal, quality, compliance and governance matters. Sylvie brings more than 35 years of experience, including almost 20 years at MMV. She previously worked at the World Bank in Washington, DC, the United Nations Compensation Commission in Geneva, and in the private sector in the US and in France. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Law from Paris XI University, France, and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Bloomington University.
    Mr. Pradeep Kakkattil

    Pradeep Kakkattil is a serial social entrepreneur and global health and innovation leader. He founded Health Innovation Exchange (HIEx) and co-founded the Women in Innovation Fund (WiNFUND) and the Climate Health Innovation and Equity Fund (CHIEF), promoting equitable healthcare access and women's health.
    Dr. Bilel Jamoussi


    Dr. Bilel Jamoussi is Deputy Director of ITU's Telecommunication Standardization Bureau. A distinguished engineer and diplomat, he champions global ICT interoperability and sustainable digital transformation, driving new standards and strategic partnerships in emerging technologies. He's a key voice in the global ICT arena.
    Dr. Sedric Degbo

    Dr. Sedric Degbo is CEO and founder of REMA, a healthtech startup connecting African healthcare professionals for improved medical decision-making and continuous education. A medical doctor, he has won multiple international awards and is recognized as a global healthcare industry influencer.
    Dr. Sara L Gonzalez Andino


    Dr. Sara L Gonzalez Andino leads Data Initiatives and Global Malaria Dashboards. A data scientist with 30+ years in science, innovation, and higher education, she's passionate about health impact through novel technologies. She developed an efficient Brain Computer Interface and has over 60 publications.
    Dr. Aurélien Macé

    Dr. Aurélien Macé leads AI in health activities at FIND, focusing on developing AI-driven solutions for diagnostics and healthcare in low- and middle-income countries. He has shaped FIND's data strategy and digital transformation, passionate about leveraging AI for equitable healthcare access.
    Dr. Sègbédji Junior Goubalan


    Dr. Sègbédji Junior Goubalan, holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. After working at GE Healthcare and Philips Healthcare, he co-founded AdjibolaTech in Benin. Their AI-powered teleradiology platform, Shuri, is accelerating patient care in Benin and Burkina Faso.
    Ms. Laura Boehner

    Laura Boehner is Gavi's Chief Technology & Knowledge Officer. She oversees Gavi’s technology function, including digital transformation, AI, and cybersecurity, ensuring effective support for this public-private partnership that vaccinates over half the world's children. With 20+ years of private sector IT leadership experience, she's based in Geneva.
    Mr. Mark Thristan

    Mark Thristan is Manager, Emerging Technologies & Enterprise Architecture at The Global Fund. He brings thirty years of experience in the private and public sector across multiple industries in exploring, adopting and using new technologies, from the early days of the internet, through the data explosion, into social networks and the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence.

    This event will be followed Saturday 05 July and Sunday 07 July by the Forum Francophone de la Gouvernance du Numérique et de l’IA, a two-day seminar focusing on ethics and governance in relationship to AI. (This event will be primarily in French).
