About Claire Wingfield

Claire joined FIND in January 2023 as Director of Partnerships and Advocacy. In this role, she cultivates and strengthens strategic partnerships in the public and private sphere and advocates for evidence-based policies to advance FIND’s mission of accelerating the development of and equitable access to diagnostic technologies.

Claire is a seasoned advocacy strategist with over 25 years of experience driving policy change on an array of health issues. She started her career as paralegal in the HIV Unit at Legal Aid Services. She ran HIV treatment literacy programs in NYC and California. Claire joined Treatment Action Group’s TB/HIV program where she helped form community advisory boards at Stop TB and CDC, conducted analyses of the TB/HIV new tools pipeline, and translated technical issues into policy. She led PATH ‘s R&D advocacy portfolio where she helped establish advocacy coalitions in sub-Saharan Africa, and authored a series of reports on accelerating product development and improving access to health technologies in low- and middle-income countries. Most recently, Claire was the Director of the Food Policy Program at the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, where she supported civil society organizations in Asia, the Caribbean, South America, and sub-Saharan Africa with grants and technical assistance to advocate for healthy food policies.

She holds a BA in Anthropology and African American studies from Wesleyan University and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Maryland.
