Doctor Emmanuel Agogo joined FIND in July 2023 as the new Director of of Pandemic Threats.

Emmanuel Agogo holds over 20 years of experience in international development and public health, with expertise in in primary health care, health systems strengthening, HIV, TB, and global health security. He has held leadership positions at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Resolve to Save Lives.

Dr Ayoade Alakija
Dr Ayoade Alakija currently serves as World Health Organization (WHO) Special Envoy for the Access to COVID19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, Chair of the African Vaccine Delivery Alliance (AVDA) and Chair of FIND.

Dr Alakija is a visionary leader, strategic thinker and vocal advocate for equity and justice with a global presence and ability to inspire and catalyse action at scale. As a medical doctor with over two decades experience working across Asia, the Americas, the Pacific region, Europe and Africa, she is expert in global health, development and humanitarian relief. She brings unique insights from working at every level of the health and development architecture- local, national, regional and global.

Driven by a deep commitment to achieve social justice and equity through humane approaches for transformational change at individual, community and systems level, she has been a leading voice calling for the urgent reimagining of how the globe should respond more consciously to the inequities exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In her previous Minister-Counsellor role as Chief Humanitarian Coordinator for Nigeria, she led the integrated humanitarian response and spearheaded the Oslo Humanitarian Conference for Nigeria and the Lake Chad region, working with governments and multilateral institutions to mobilize resources for some of the most under-recognized humanitarian crises in the world. Dr Alakija is also the founder of the Emergency Coordination Centre in Nigeria which promotes the rights of women and girls in education and health.

Dr Grania Brigden

Grania Brigden is a Senior TB Advisor at The Global Fund. In this role, she is involved in providing technical advice on investment of Global Fund resources to Global Fund teams and grant implementers and works closely with national programs and technical partners.

Additionally, she leads the TB Next Gen Market Shaping and TB New Product Introduction work. Grania has previously worked for The International Union Against TB and Lung Disease (The Union) as the Director of TB, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Access Campaign as a TB Advisor, with Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) in Uganda.

Grania studied medicine at University of Aberdeen and completed her specialist training in general and respiratory medicine in the UK and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh.

Dr Sergio Carmona
Acting CEO and Chief Medical Officer, FIND

Dr Sergio Carmona is a seasoned leader in global health, currently serving as the acting CEO and Chief Medical Officer at FIND. Sergio has been instrumental in shaping FIND’s strategic direction and spearheading critical initiatives since joining the organization in 2019.

As Chief Medical Officer, Sergio has oversight of FIND’s programmatic and access activities, and he played a pivotal role in FIND’s contributions to the global emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Drawing from over a decade of experience at the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) in South Africa, Sergio brings extensive expertise in molecular diagnostics and treatment monitoring, particularly in areas such as early infant diagnosis, HIV drug resistance, and associated co-infections. His contributions have significantly advanced the field, shaping guidelines and policies at national and international levels. A haematologist by training, Sergio’s academic background includes a medical degree (MBBCh) from the University of Witwatersrand, a Pathology Specialization (FCPath), and a PhD in Molecular Medicine and Haematology. His research outputs have informed critical guidance in HIV diagnostics and management, earning him recognition as a key contributor to the technical committees of the World Health Organization and other global health organizations.

Sergio’s multicultural background, with roots in both South Africa and Chile, enriches his perspectives and enhances his effectiveness in diverse global settings. Sergio earned his medical degree (MBBCh) from the University of Witwatersrand before doing a Pathology Specialization (FCPath) in 2009, earning a PhD in Molecular Medicine and Haematology in 2018. He is proficient in both English and Spanish.

Dr Fatim Cham-Jallow
Senior Medical Laboratory Specialist, Technical Advice and Partnerships Department, The Global Fund

Dr Fatim Cham-Jallow leads the Integrated Laboratory Systems Strengthening Team at the Global Fund. In her role as Senior Medical Laboratory Specialist, Fatim supports and provides technical advice on effective use of global Funds investments in diagnostics product management and integrated lab systems strengthening.

Prior to joining the Global Fund, she was with the WHO Regional Office for Africa during which she served as the Laboratory Technical adviser. Prior to that, joining WHO AFRO, she held several posts with The Medical Research Council (MRC), The Gambia and The Henry F Jackson Foundation (HJF) for the advancement of Military Medicine.

At HJF, she was assigned to the Makerere University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP) where she provided leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, and evaluation of laboratory services in support of HIV/Ebola vaccine trials. Fatim has published extensively in peer review journals including a book publication and a submission to the United States (US) patent office.

Dr Kenneth Fleming
Chair, The Lancet Commission on diagnostics

Dr Fleming has been an academic pathologist for over 40 years. His research interests include the pathogenesis of Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, and the molecular analysis of tissue. He has over 200 publications and a H-index of 55.

Dr Fleming has had several major leadership positions in academic medicine, including appointment as the inaugural Head of the Oxford Medical Sciences Division (Dean of Medicine) from 2000 till 2008. He was also Deputy Head of the UK Council of Medical Schools from 2002-5. Since 2008, the problems of lack of pathology in many countries have been his focus. He has set up a MMed for Pathology in Zambia, set up and directed the International Department at the Royal College of Pathologists and been Senior Adviser for Pathology to the Centre for Global Heath at the NCI. He chaired the Lancet Commission on diagnostics and has served as a WHO adviser for several areas of pathology.

Sanne Frost Helt is Senior Director for Policy, Programme and Partnerships at the World Diabetes Foundation. Sanne has more than 20 years' experience in international development cooperation and partnerships on a range of issues related to health, including reproductive, maternal and child health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and pandemic response.

Her experience spans Ministry of Foreign Affairs Denmark, the UN system, and the private sector. Before joining the World Diabetes Foundation, Sanne was Denmark’s representative to the Board of the World Bank Group. Prior to that, she was Chief Advisor for Global Health at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Denmark at which time she also served as co-Chair of the WHO/Global Coordinating Mechanism on NCDs Working Group on inclusion of NCDs in other programmatic areas.

Senior Advisor, Clinton Health Access Initiative

Renuka Gadde is a global health advocate and has extensive experience in providing leadership for advancing partnerships that strengthen health systems, drive innovations, access, and advocacy across global health programs such as HIV, TB, Immunization and Women’s Health. She has proven experience in working across industry and the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining CHAI (Clinton Health Access Initiative), Renuka worked with Becton Dickinson, a global medical technology company in various roles across medical devices and diagnostics.

In her last role at BD as Vice president, Global Health, Renuka established partnerships with health agencies such as PEPFAR, USAID, CDC, LSHTM, BMGF, FIND for capacity building, and to strengthen health systems in low-and-middle income countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. She is skilled in driving advocacy programs. She has participated in various global forums as a speaker, moderator in shaping issues in health. Renuka joined CHAI in 2020 as Senior Advisor with a focus on advancing access to diagnostics for populations in LMICs. Renuka served on the board of Global Fund, African Society of Lab Medicine (ASLM), project hope and is currently on the advisory of Rice University’s Nest 360 program.

Dr Gladwell Gathecha

Ag Head, Division of Non-communicable Diseases, Ministry of Health, Kenya

Dr. Gladwell Gathecha is the Ag. Head of the Division of Non-Communicable Diseases at the Ministry of Health. She has more than ten years of experience working in health systems strengthening, policy development and research in the field of Non-Communicable Diseases and Injuries.

Dr. Gathecha interests includes health financing and surveillance and she seeks to find synergies between social determinants of health and healthcare interventions to create more equitable health outcomes. Dr. Gathecha leads several research and implementation projects, which have had a major impact for creating knowledge about NCDs in Kenya. Dr. Gathecha is the National coordinator for the National Non-Communicable Diseases and Injuries Poverty Commission.

Dr Catherine Canute Joachim
Head of Programs and Health Systems Strengthening, Ministry of Health, Tanzania

Catherine is a dynamic and compassionate health system specialist with more than twenty years’ hands-on experience in management and coordination of activities pertaining both public and private health service delivery in Tanzania. Her areas of competence include Programme Management, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Resource Mobilization, Research, Human Resource Management among others. She has a strong focus on getting tangible results particularly in those related to responsive and resilient systems for health.

Catherine holds a Bachelor Degree on Human Medicine and Surgery, Postgraduate training in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and a Master of Science in Global Health Systems. While working at the Ministry of Health in Tanzania, she successful led the development and implementation of Global Fund Health Systems Strengthening Program which requires coordination between Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies and Non-State Actors. She has also led coordination of Health Sector Wide Approach in Tanzania including formulation and monitoring performance of Health Sector Strategic Plan.

Her exceptional interpersonal skills have enabled her build up strong relationships with local, regional and global organizations and also with Tanzania Health Sector Intersectoral and Multisectoral Stakeholders. Her analytical skills are cemented through her ability to visualize, gather information, articulate, analyse, solve complex problems and make decisions.
Adelard Kakunze

Dr Adelard Kakunze
Lead, Non-communicable Diseases and Mental Health Program, Africa CDC

Dr Adelard Kakunze is a medical doctor, an accomplished public health professional and social entrepreneur with commitment to engage in knowledge translation to improve health systems in Africa. He is currently leading the Non-communicable diseases and Mental health Unit under the Division of Disease Control and Prevention at the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC). Before, he was supporting the office of the inaugural Director of the Africa CDC as a technical officer.

He has published for his work in public health on the fronts of Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) prevention, NCDs surveillance and mobile health technologies, epidemic preparedness metrics, etc. Dr Kakunze has also marked impact on social entrepreneurship, Founder of two start-ups and as Founding Curator of the World Economic Forum Young Leaders community (Global Shapers) in Burundi. He is a 2015 Tony Elumelu entrepreneur, IVLP and YALI Alumni, and One Young World Ambassador since 2013.

Dr Tereza Kasaeva, MD, PhD is the Director of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Tuberculosis Programme.

Since 2018, she has been leading WHO’s work on norms, policies and standards on TB prevention and care; technical support to countries, including through the three-level WHO TB technical expert network; monitoring the global TB epidemic; promoting TB research & innovations and strengthening political and multisectoral engagement, accountability and advocacy to End TB. Dr Kasaeva has more than 28 years of experience in public health and in leading innovative efforts for socially significant diseases, including TB, with over a decade with the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
Ms Blessina Kumar

Ms Blessina Kumar
Chief Executive Officer, Global Coalition of TB Advocates

Blessina Kumar is a Health Advocate with a background in Public Health and Health Systems management and special expertise on Tuberculosis focussing on community engagement.

She has worked with varied communities across India and the Sudan building networks of community members and building capacity on health. She has endeavoured to bridge the patient – practitioner divide through community literacy and policy advocacy at a macro level.

For the last 18 years, Blessina has focused on TB supporting CSO’s and community groups across India, Asia Pacific, Africa and LAC. She has built capacity of affected community members and advocated for their inclusion in TB policy and implementation bodies, globally. Blessina has used every opportunity, policy meeting and country meeting to advocate for inclusion of community representatives.

In India she has led the civil society movement against TB, lobbied decision makers and worked with parliamentarians to raise TB awareness among them for better care and support for patients and accountability from the TB programme. Her strong advocacy highlighting the issue of stigma has contributed richly to make addressing stigma and discrimination a top global priority.

Presently, Blessina heads the Global Coalition of TB Advocates (GCTA), a body that is in the forefront of ensuring a people centred and rights-based TB response. GCTA has developed several guidance documents, community brochures and training manuals and tools for the benefit of the TB affected community
She continues to serve on many global and regional boards and committees bringing her expertise and the community perspective to the table. She was a member of the WHO Civil Society Task Force (CSTF) TB for 6 years. Presently she is the Global Community Advisory Group member for UNITE4TB, Member WHO Technical Advisory Group (TAG), Co-Chair of India n Council for Medical Research National Community Advisory Board (NCAB), Member of the International Scientific Advisory Group -ICMR, Member of CAB Benefit Kids Stellenbosch TB Centre South Africa, Technical Advisor for WHO Southeast Asia Region for TB, Technical Advisor Community Engagement, National TB Programme, India.

Bent Lautrup-Nielsen is Head of Global Advocacy at World Diabetes Foundation (WDF). Over the past decade he has developed some of WDF’s largest national NCD response partnerships and he leads WDF’s global collaboration with the WHO and other international agencies. Prior to joining WDF he was based in East Africa with the UN system.

Sarah-Jane Loveday leads the communications team at FIND, with two decades of experience in health communications spanning public relations, external scientific affairs, global strategic marketing and medical communications. Prior to joining FIND in 2017, she co-led the healthcare team at Weber Shandwick Geneva, a leading global public relations agency with both private and non-profit sector mandates, and has worked in-house and as a consultant for various private sector pharmaceutical companies, including Merck, Celgene, Novartis, GSK, Ipsen and Abbott.

Sarah-Jane began her career in journal publishing, and trained as a medical editor. Her extensive portfolio covers all aspects of communications strategy, planning and delivery, both online and offline. Sarah-Jane is a Certified Medical Publications Professional, holds a BSc(Hons) from City University, London (UK) and a master’s degree from Royal Holloway, University of London (UK).

Dr Bente Mikkelsen is Director, Noncommunicable Diseases in the division of UHC/Communicable and Noncommunicable diseases, World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters (Geneva, Switzerland).

She was formerly Director, Division of Noncommunicable Diseases and Promoting Health through the Life-course at the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe (Copenhagen, Denmark), Head of Secretariat for the Global Coordination Mechanism on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases (WHO GCM/NCD) at the World Health Organization Headquarters (Geneva, Switzerland) from its inception in 2014 as well as a former CEO of the Southern and Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority.

Dr Mikkelsen is trained as a Gynaecologist and Obstetrician and holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration and Management from the University of Oslo. Her current focus is on achieving the SDGs through the reduction of premature deaths from NCDs in the context of WHO General Programme of Work, and working across sectors with Mult stakeholders, within and beyond the health sector using innovation, implementation research, health literacy and new technologies.
Deusdedit Mubangizi

Mr Deusdedit Mubangizi
Director, Health Products Policy and Standards Department (HPS), World Health Organization

Mr. Mubangizi is a senior regulator with experiences in the regulation of pharmaceutical products, Vaccines, Vector Control Products and In-Vitro Diagnostics. He is currently the Director of the Health Products Policy and Standards Department of the World Health Organization, based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Prior to joining WHO in 2008, Mr. Mubangizi had served as the Chief Inspector of Drugs (1996 - 2008) where he was one of the founder staff of Uganda’s national medicines regulatory agency, National Drug Authority (NDA), in 1994. In 1995, he worked with consultants appointed by WHO to establish a drug registration system for Uganda and subsequently coordinated a team that established the GMP inspection system for local and foreign manufacturing facilities marketing their products in Uganda. He headed the Inspectorate and Licensing Department of NDA Uganda from 1996 to March 2008. He participated in the initiation of medicine regulation harmonization in East Africa and Africa in General. In 2004 he joined a team of external dossier assessors for WHO Prequalification where he was shortly promoted to the level of senior assessor.

He has, on behalf of his country Uganda and for WHO Medicines Prequalification Programme, inspected sites in African, Europe, Asia, North America and South America for the manufacture of Finished Pharmaceutical Products, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Vaccines and In-vitro diagnostics; national quality control laboratories; and Clinical Research Organizations where bio-equivalence studies are conducted.

Dr Angela Muriuki
Director, Women’s Health, FIND

Angela joined FIND in February 2023 as the Director, Women’s Health, based in Nairobi, Kenya. She has 16+ years’ experience working with women and girls in programme, policy, research, system strengthening and clinical roles in East, West and Central Africa and in South Asia. She is a passionate advocate for person- and people-centred approaches to addressing the needs of women and girls based on their age and life stage.

Some of her previous work includes translation of key principles from the science of the developing adolescent’s brain into design and delivery of programmes for very young adolescents in Tanzania, testing of a risk-based approach to provision of targeted postnatal care in Bangladesh, testing of resupply approaches for conflicted-affected chronic care patients (HIV, NCD) during displacement and forced movement in DRC, adapting health systems to meet the needs of nomadic and semi-nomadic pastoralists in Kenya and a person-centred, holistic approach to care of pregnant and parenting adolescents in Sierra Leone.

Angela obtained her medical degree at the University of Nairobi and her master’s degree from The Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam and Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, as part of the Erasmus Mundus Masters Programme.

Carol is a renowned international TB/HIV activist, a passionate community representative who uses her personal experience with TB/HIV. She is Executive Director of CITAMplus, an NGO based in Zambia which works closely with NTP and a member of MoH TB TWG.

She is board member representing affected communities on the boards of Stop TB Partnership and TBPeople and in the past Unitaid, Global Fund and The Union. At national levels she is FPP of the Parliamentary TB Caucus, national Stop TB Partnership and chairperson of CSOs TB network. Also past president of Africa Coalition on TB and a diagnostic champion.
Ebere Okereke

Dr Ebere Okereke
Chief Executive Officer, Africa Public Health Foundation

Dr. Ebere Okereke is a dedicated public health physician, recognised for her extensive expertise in shaping public health policy, designing strategic frameworks, and successfully executing complex health programs. Her work primarily focuses on global health security, health system strengthening, and the cultivation of effective leadership in the field. Dr. Okereke has garnered prestigious accolades in recognition of her advocacy for women and under-represented groups in public health leadership, solidifying her status as a trailblazer in the field.

Her contributions to the world of academic medicine were honored by the British Medical Association, which recognized her as an outstanding role model for women in academic medicine. Additionally, the UK Government Science and Engineering Profession recognized her as an "Inspirational Leader in Science and Engineering.". She was profiled in The Lancet in November 2023 and in December 2023, she received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine UK.

Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Africa Public Health Foundation, Dr. Okereke has held pivotal roles in esteemed organisations, including her previous position as the Lead Consultant in Public Health England's International Health Regulations Strengthening Programme. Her influence has also extended to the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, where she served as a Senior Adviser, and as an Honorary Senior Adviser to the inaugural Director of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. As an adviser at the Africa CDC, she co-lead the creation of the Partnerships for African Vaccines Manufacturing.

Beyond her professional roles, Dr. Okereke actively engages in numerous prominent institutions and initiatives. She sits on the governing board of the Albert Luthuli Institute of Leadership at Pretoria University and is a founding member of the Africa CDC Kofi Annan Global Health Leadership Programme. Her involvement extends to several global health expert reference and advisory groups, as well as scientific committees. She served on the GAVI Expert Reference Group for the creation of the Africa Vaccines Manufacturing Accelerator and is currently a member of the WHO African Region Emergency Preparedness and Response Technical Advisory Group.

Dr. Okereke is a Fellow of the UK Faculty of Public Health and an Associate Fellow at Chatham House. She is a graduate of the University of Nigeria College of Medicine, where her journey in public health leadership and advocacy began and has post graduate qualifications from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Newcastle University and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Dr Stephanie Psaki is a public health leader with expertise at the intersection of national security, global health, and equity.

She has led public health policy-making at senior levels of the United States Government, working alongside partners in civil society, the private sector, and philanthropy. Dr Psaki has held leadership positions across multiple sectors - government, NGOs, and research institutions - and she has lived and worked around the world.

She holds a PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a Master of Science degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Dra. Lucia Rizka Andalucia, Apt, M.Pharm, MARS, was appointed as Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices in the Indonesian Ministry of Health on December 15, 2021. Prior to this appointment, she served as Director of Drug Standardization, Narcotics, Psychotropic Substances, Precursors and Addictive Substances, and also served as Director of Drug Registration at the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority. A doctoral degree holder from Gadjah Mada University, DG Rizka has also been a spokesperson for COVID-19 vaccination by the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPC-PEN).

Sanjay Sarin joined FIND in September 2015 as Head of Country Operations for India and Head of Access Programme for Asia Pacific. He has a doctorate from PGIMER, Chandigarh, India and close to 20 years’ experience in health policy, market development, and business management with specialization in the development of strategic initiatives for driving access in emerging markets. In his current role, he is responsible for providing leadership for strategic plan development and implementation of current and planned operations in FIND India, ensuring continued engagement with partners and donors at local and international levels and leading the resource mobilization efforts in the AP region.

Sanjay joined FIND from Becton Dickinson (BD), where he was Regional Director of Global Health for the Asia Pacific region and was responsible for design, development, and implementation of BD’s public health strategies. During his stint with BD, he was instrumental in establishing several key partnerships, including one with MoH India, which resulted in expansion of TB diagnostic capacity within the national TB programme; TB lab strengthening partnership with USAID in Indonesia; collaboration with Project Hope to strengthen diabetes management capacity at Class 1 facilities in China, and a lab systems strengthening partnership with CDC and MoH India known as the “Labs for Life Partnership”.

Before joining BD, Sanjay served as Regional Lab Advisor (India & South East Asia) with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). In CHAI, he played a key role in scaling up access to CD4 monitoring within India’s AIDS Control Programme and was responsible for setting up more than a dozen functional CD4 laboratories, development of the CD4 enumeration guidelines and an external quality assurance system for CD4 monitoring in India.

Mr. Scheijgrond currently serves as Vice President and Global Head of Government and Public Affairs at Philips, where he leads relations between Philips and public sector representatives, such as governments and international institutions. The Government Affairs function works to address global healthcare transformation challenges, in particular health system strengthening, geopolitical developments, climate change, digital technologies, and the resilience to crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

He is also responsible for public-private partnerships with institutions such as the United Nations, the World Health Organisation, and other international development partners.

Mr. Scheijgrond focuses on partnerships that strengthen health systems and foster sustainable and equitable healthcare. Mr. Scheijgrond is the Chairman of the United Nations Global Compact Network Netherlands, and President of the European trade association COCIR. He is also Steering Committee member of the Partnership for Health Systems Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR).

Mr. Scheijgrond joined Philips in 2009 as Senior Director in the Corporate Sustainability Office with responsibility for risk and reputation management. He started his career at the United Nations Environment Program, where he developed best practice guides related to cleaner production for emerging markets. Subsequently, he held several sustainability and government affairs related functions at the BLC Leather Confederation (UK), Epson (NL), and Hewlett-Packard (B). Mr. Scheijgrond holds a Masters degree in Environmental Technology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.

His experience leading the West Java Digital Services, Jakarta Smart City grows my expertise in information technology as he was a graduate of information technology engineering. Joelle Tanguy joined the Executive Team of the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) in 2018 as Director of External Affairs. She also serves as executive lead for Diversity, Equity and for the organization’s Climate initiative recognizing innovation for neglected tropical diseases as a cornerstone of climate adaptation.

Joelle is building on her professional experiences as Managing Director at GAVI (the Vaccine Alliance), Under-Secretary-General at the International Red Cross and Red Crescent, and, more recently, Director of Partnerships and Advocacy at UN Women.

Joelle was part of the founding team of DNDi, in her capacity as US Executive Director of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and has served on the Board of Directors of DNDi North America. She also established another Product Development Partnership, the TB Alliance, as its founding Director of External Affairs and Public Policy.

Joelle received her MBA from France’s HEC MBA in a joint programme with Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business from where she joined Silicon Valley technology firms. On a sabbatical from the Silicon Valley, she volunteered for Médecins Sans Frontières in Uganda, Somalia, the Balkans, and the Caucasus, leading humanitarian missions.

Joelle has led humanitarian and “access to health” policy campaigns; led and advised humanitarian initiatives; developed public-private partnerships; scaled up MSF fundraising scope; successfully orchestrated GAVI’s first major refinancing effort (US$ 4.3 billion); guided Fortune 500 firms to engage in support of people living with HIV/AIDS; served as focal point for the private sector on the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Board of Directors; and advised Human Rights Watch and private foundations. Joelle now serves on the board of the Access to Medicine Index Foundation

Kevin joined FIND in January 2023 as Director of the Fever & Malaria programme. Previously he was an Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). He brings to the role over 20 years of experience of working in academia, in the biotherapeutics industry and with industrial partners. He combines this expertise with a passion for using innovative approaches to help address healthcare concerns. As programme lead, he will build and nurture strategic partnerships in the public and private space to help deliver equitable diagnostic solutions to address disease concerns.

As part of his previous portfolio Kevin has led initiatives to support the strengthening of research programmes at partner sites across East to West Africa and in Southeast Asia, supporting the transfer of expertise and technology across sites. He has used interdisciplinary approaches to address questions around infection and disease surveillance, including zoonoses to address unmet needs.

Kevin holds a BSc in Applied Biology from the University of East London and a PhD in Molecular and Biochemical Parasitology from the University of Edinburgh. He also serves as a member of international faculty at the University of Ghana as part of the WACCBIP (West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens) programme and serves as mentor on the IAVI (International AIDS Vaccine Initiative) leadership programme.

Daniel is a project Lead at the Global Fund Advocates Network. With over 20 years of experience in global health strategy, policy, and health system planning, he focuses on helping organizations achieve strategic and visionary outcomes through policy, planning, organizational change management, and leadership development in equity, diversity, and inclusion.

As an advocate and policy advisor, Daniel has led initiatives to address barriers faced by marginalized and vulnerable populations and communities. He has also led community-based and culturally adaptive research, evaluation, and quality improvement processes, combining rigorous, evidence-informed social science research methodologies with anti-oppression and intersectionality principles.

Daniel is passionate about health system leadership, transformational partnerships, and leveraging healthcare innovation to improve health outcomes. He is a graduate of Imperial College London and the University of Toronto.

Adriana is a passionate Mexican biomedical engineer with 40 years of experience- striving for access to safe, affordable, quality and appropriate medical devices for all populations in need. She has led the Medical devices unit at the World Health Organization (WHO), since 2008.

In WHO she has led the development of policies for medical devices, global data, innovative technologies, health technology assessment and health technology management. She is responsible for the development of the Medical Devices information system (MeDevIS) which integrates the WHO Priority Medical devices lists, including devices for prevention, diagnostics and treatment.

She is Mexican Biomedical Engineer with postgraduate degree in Clinical Engineering in USA. Before joining WHO she was the founding and Director General of the National Centre for Health Technology Excellence (CENETEC) in the Ministry of Health in Mexico, where she had more than 15 years’ experience as clinical engineer in Private and public hospitals in Mexico. She has had honorary positions in national and international professional organizations.
