Market imperfections can impede the development of novel therapeutics, diagnostics, and control interventions for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). Many financing solutions that have been applied to other diseases have yet to be applied to NTDs, which could impede efforts to achieve targets set in the WHO NTD Roadmap. GLIDE, with a small core group of 20 partners including representatives from traditional pharmaceutical companies, NGOs, PDPs, and civil society, embarked upon a 6-month exercise that has resulted in identifying four promising innovative finance (IF) mechanisms that apply a renewed perspective on the role of IF to fill prioritized gaps along the NTD value chain. This event will present the findings of the exercise and galvanize inter-sectoral discussions on IF solutions for NTDs.

Willo Brock, VP External Affairs at FIND, will be joining the meeting to frame these important issues in the context of diagnostic testing.
