About the session
Just a year ago, as World Health Organization (WHO) launched the new neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) roadmap, a key message emerged: “fit-for-purpose” diagnostics are a prerequisite to achieving global targets for the prevention, control, elimination, and eradication of NTDs. And yet today, only 2 out of more than 20 NTDs are supported by adequate and accessible diagnostics.

How can we accelerate progress in diagnostics? And how can we assess if current funding and global efforts are sufficient to move the needle?

FIND, the global alliance for diagnostics, and the International Society for Neglected Tropical Diseases (ISNTD) are inviting a panel of experts to discuss and share insights on:

  • The needs for innovative NTD diagnostics
  • The NTD diagnostic landscape and the critical R&D and access gaps to address
  • How innovation and collaboration can bring us closer to our common goals

The session will be followed by an ISNTD Café Connect, a friendly informal meeting and a great opportunity to introduce yourself and your field of work and to socialize with colleagues from around the world.
