Join us on Friday, 5 March at 16:00 East Africa Time, when we discuss the potential impact of variants of SARS-CoV-2 on PCR diagnosis of COVID-19. Presenters will detail the emergence of new variants and their impact on the COVID-19 pandemic, the potential impact of new variants on current COVID-19 tests, including how diagnostic test manufacturers have addressed the effects of new variants. This session will also introduce the ASLM/FIND PCR guidance document on in-house test development for molecular detection of SARS-CoV-2. The document provides practical tips for the creation of new molecular diagnostic tests and other emerging pathogens for which genetic information is available.
