Fourth Global High-level Ministerial Conference On Antimicrobial Resistance

Fourth Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance

15 – 16 November 2024 Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has been named one of the top global public health threats by WHO.

There is a clear and urgent need to address the disturbing rise in drug resistance in humans, animals and plants.

FIND is hosting a session on “Deep Dive into Diagnostics- the Testing Case for AMR” on 14 November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as part of the Non-State Actors’ Day which takes place just prior to the 4th AMR Ministerial Meeting to be held in Saudi Arabia on 15th and 16th November.

Dr Ayoade Alakija, Chair of the Board, opens the FIND session on diagnostics at the High Level Ministerial Meeting on AMR in Saudi Arabia.

The session will outline concrete actions to support the implementation of the Global Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance through national action plans, taking into account synergies and alignment with the Diagnostics Resolution adopted by Member States in 2023. The goal is to identify priority innovations and actions needed by different stakeholders to close the diagnostics gaps in a variety of country settings.

Dr Ifedayo Adetifa, Chief Transformation Officer/CEO, speaks at the FIND session on diagnostics at the High Level Ministerial Meeting on AMR in Saudi Arabia.
