LabCoP DNO SubCoP ECHO Session on 25 July 2024

25 July 2024 16:00 – 17:00 (EAT) Virtual

Maximizing laboratory efficiency: an overview of geospatial analysis for diagnostic network optimization

Geospatial analyses are increasingly being leveraged by countries to identify gaps and opportunities to expand disease testing, promote equitable access to testing for all, and support public health measures such as disease surveillance. Different types of analyses can be designed according to the diagnostic system context, priority questions to be answered, and practical factors such as data availability and technical skills.

This ECHO session aims to introduce some common approaches and applications of geospatial analyses for diagnostic systems, and provide examples of insights that can be generated to inform a wide range of decisions across policy and strategic planning, financing and procurement, and operations management of laboratory systems. The session will also include brief case studies and practical examples from similar analyses in various countries.
