About Ryan Ruiz

Ryan joined FIND in 2016 as Laboratory Coordinator for the organization’s Hepatitis C project. Born in the Philippines, Ryan Jose III, finished his Medical Laboratory Science degree at Notre Dame of Marbel University, and received his Master degree in Health Social Science from the De La Salle University in Manila. He also holds a certificate in advance training in HIV Testing Technologies, Mycobacteriology and Malaria-G6PD studies.

Before joining FIND, Ryan had 15 years of technical experience working in medical laboratories in various countries in both field and reference laboratory settings. In this capacity, he managed health laboratory development programs, working closely with ministries of health, NGOs, INGOs and biotech companies on innovative laboratory technologies.

For the past five years, Ryan has been involved technically and operationally in laboratory activities with a focus on HIV/AIDS technologies (PCR, EID and virologic tests), TB/MDR-TB diagnostic technologies (GeneXpert and MGIT), malaria, Leishmania, and other neglected disease screening tests, and Ebola virus disease.
