Helen Bokea joined FIND in September 2023. In her role as Director of Neglected Tropical Diseases, she provides strategic leadership for the NTD programme. Helen is an accomplished expert in international development and global health who brings 20 plus years of experience to the role with a focus on implementation and scale-up of sustainable health programmes in LMICs. She combines her expertise in public health with a passion for integrated health development programmes for sustainable service delivery.

In previous roles, Helen’s portfolio of work includes leading implementation research projects to lower neonatal mortality using low-cost technologies; providing technical and programmatic advisory services for the elimination of trachoma as a public health problem; and managing health research capacity strengthening initiatives.

Helen holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Liverpool and a Master of Science in Management & Organizational Development from United States International University (USIU-A). She serves as a Mentor on the WHO Mwele Malecela Mentorship programme for Women in Neglected Tropical Diseases.
